05.02.00 – 11.02.00
Well an entire week goes by with no dev builds. I hope this
next build isn’t going to be like b24 was. All secret with the dev’s
and a select few beta testers gloating and showing off ss’s of the new
commands and improvements. Daily builds have become a staple of LS, and
I believe have helped the development reach area’s that would not have
been available before. Now, I know the cvs is either damaged or is
gone, but someone is coding something in the core so daily builds are
possible. Give us our fix! Let us in on what you’re working on! We
want to know! Not only does it keep us coming back for more, but we
may find bugs you didn’t know where there because of what OS we use or
a bizarre string of commands we try. Although the end user isn’t the
end all be all of the shell, we do make a difference. If not for us, I
don’t think LS would be where it is today.

shortcuts everytime I switched themes. With LsLnkMenu, all
you have to do is change the location of the main button
and all your shortcuts stay the same.
“LsLnkMenu will only read .lnk files and their associated
icons. However, you can change the icon that the .lnk file
displays via explorer to any icon or bitmap.”

THEMES
—————————
- Soft Shell 2.1 ~ godzillamk (1:10pm 09.02)
“[UPDATE] Welcome to Soft Shell 2.1 the most comprehensive
LiteStep theme ever compiled. However there are a few things
to note about this release. This new update includes new
graphics for the popup menu, totally revamped module skins,
a new dwarf bar, instead of the old wharf bar, hundreds of
hand created icons, cursors, and revamped skins for MyPad,
ICQ Plus, Windows Blinds, eFx. This theme uses some of the
most recent versions of the following modules to make Soft
Shell more functional, Recycler.dll desktop.dll ecuts3.dll
Dwarf.dll sysvwm.dll lscdplay.app The new expanding Folders
Bar is designed and organized to make accessing your software
easier. The new popup uses the Dynamic folder command to,
which allows you to add links to the popup menu without
refreshing, this is done by having several folder groups in
the popup, Applications Internet Utilities Multimedia
Entertainment Control Panel Drives Please Note: Soft Shell
2.1 is COMPLETELY INCOMPATIBLE with Soft Shell 1.0 so PLEASE
don’t try to extract it over your current version of Soft
Shell To install fresh is no problem, just extract it to the
theme to the following directory /LiteStep/themes/Soft Shell
(Note* Make sure you use a space in the title Soft Shell) To
make sure that everyone runs smoothly when you recycle, please
read the ReadMe.txt right away. I hope everyone enjoys using
it as much as I enjoyed creating it. As always please contact
me , with questions and comments.”

WEB SITES
—————————
- Litestep.com gets a facelift
I just shot over to ls.com to see if anything was being
done and lo and behold a new layout. Seems as if WareWolf
has done a major overhaul of the site and is trying to
bring ls.com back from the dead. Check it out and give him
your rants/raves.

Tips
—-
- Want multiple .rc’s but don’t want to run the only beta build that has
it? Want to do on the fly macro editing of your step.rc to toggle
comments? Consider writing up a .bat file in conjunction with some
command line programs. Even if its not a direct command line
program, like UltraEdit, as long as it can take command line input,
you can automate repeat tasks with a minimum of programming
knowledge.
