06.11.99 – 12.11.99

Well this has been an interesting week.  Yet again we seem to
have been thrown into a bitter battle, this time a bit more public
as ls.com and ls.net went head to head on there front pages.  I
would love to rant about that here but I refuse to continue to
propagate this anymore as it seems to have died down.  What I will
say though is this, ENOUGH!  This is not just directed at the owners
of these sites but to everyone.  This is really getting out of hand.
It seems that just about every month or so some big blow out happens
and we end up setting ourselves back a few steps for no reason.  I
guess we didn’t learn the first time when we lost Fahim to bickering
so again the fighting started.  Look people, this “community” is not
much of a community when were like this.  Nothing gets done and we
usually end up losing good people.  Before you decided to rip into
someone for one reason or another, stop before you do and think
about exactly what the after affects the fight will be.  Think really
hard or we may end up with no one at the wheel and we will all be
left waiting for the crash.

comments, crits etc if any of you have the chance…

ok for me to include LS devs if due credit is given to the
dev team?

Thanks for your time”

PROGRAMS
—————————

- Edit.RC 0.1.8 ~ az (12:08pm 08.11)

Edit.RC is a Multi-Tabbed text editor made specifically for
LiteStep .RC Files.

When I say ‘files’, it’s because Edit.RC can open multiple
files, and save them to one step.rc.

Also, Edit.Rc Recognizes step.rc ‘blocks’.  When it encounters
these blocks it loads them into separate tabs in the editor.

Would load into three separate editor tabs (if you want, it
can be loaded into a single one).

Then you can edit them all, ‘save merged’ and there you go.

Tips
—-

- Someone recently e-mailed me and asked if you can run Active
Desktop in LS.  Yes you can, but why I have no idea.  Just run
LS in Explorer with ExplorerNoWarn added into your step.rc and
set up ActiveDesktop as normal.

- lsWharfTester ~ GreatAuk (September 25, 1998)

“The purpose of this application is simply to test wharf
modules without the need to keep changing the step.rc file and
recycling LiteStep.  In addition, if you are developing wharfs
by testing your module with this application, you’ll be able
to watch it and test it without worrying about crashing
LiteStep (and the problems that a crashed LiteStep creates).”
